What are the visual self-learning courses?
They are online video tutorials that enable users to learn without being tied to a particular time and place.

What are the system requirements for my computer to view the courses?
  • We strongly recommend that you keep your browser up-to-date to enjoy the best performance. New features are developed regularly and may not work properly on old browsers. The following are the minimum requirements for browsers: Internet Explorer 9.0 or above, Firefox 9 or above, Chrome 12 or above, or Safari 4.1.2 or above. To get a fast and up-to-date browser, click here
  • Basic computer speakers or headphones.
  • Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Macintosh OSX 10.4.11 or Linux.
  • The most current version of Adobe Flash Player. Download the Flash Player here
  • Internet connection with sufficient bandwidth. For the smoothest playback, a downstream bandwidth of at least 500Kbps or higher is recommended. You can test your downstream bandwidth at www.speedtest.net Once there, click on the BEGIN TEST button. Once complete, your downstream bandwidth is displayed in the "Download Speed" box near the top of your screen.
  • To ensure smooth viewing on slower connections, wait until the video is fully loaded, which is indicated by the progress bar at the bottom of the video player. When the video first opens, click the pause button until the gray bar completely fills the progress bar area, then press play.

How does the training work? How do I get access to the courses?
You may view the first three lessons of each course offered on our website for FREE. Simply click on the course you are interested in and click on any of the first three lessons. If you want to learn the complete course, Sign Up for a membership to gain full access to all course lessons.

What courses are offered on the website?
We have hundreds of online courses on a variety of topics in computer software and business skills. We add new courses monthly to ensure that you are getting the most up-to-date information. All of our courses are listed on the left side of every page. Simply click on a course to view the full lesson list.

Who teaches the courses?
College professors and certified instructors teach all of our courses. We recruit experienced and enthusiastic experts from across the United States to provide the most current and in-depth instruction.

How long are your courses?
We have courses ranging from thirty minutes to twelve hours. Courses are broken up into individual chapters and lessons, which can be viewed anytime, as many times as you wish. You can take the courses whenever you want—watch an entire course in one sitting or spread out the lessons over a period of days, weeks, or even months, as long as your membership remains active.

What age range are these courses for?
These courses are designed for anyone, no matter what their age. We have designed the training to be as easy to learn as possible for beginning to advanced-level users.

Do you have different levels for each course?
Depending on the topic, we offer introductory to advanced-level courses in order to fit every user's needs.

Do you provide any certification for your training?
Yes. We provide a KnowledgeCity Certificate of Proficiency. Just complete the course and click on the Certification Test button, located at the top right corner of the course page. Once you pass the test, you will need to contact your supervisor to receive a copy.

Do you offer a free trial or free lessons?
Yes. You have instant access to the first three lessons of every course. You can choose any course and start viewing these lessons immediately, as many times as you wish. If you would like to view additional lessons, sign in, or contact your supervisor for full access.

Q:
Can I view the lessons from any computer? Do I need any software to take the courses?
All you need is your computer, headphones or speakers, a high-speed Internet connection, and the most current version of Adobe Flash Player. Click here to download Adobe Flash Player for free.

Q:
Why can't I see the video?
If you cannot see the video, you may have to install the most current version of Adobe Flash Player. Click here to download Adobe Flash Player for free. Once you reach the Adobe download page, click to begin the download. If you encounter any security prompts, allow the program to be downloaded and installed. Once you have successfully downloaded the most current version of Adobe Flash Player, close all browser windows and re-open the website.

Q:
Why can't I hear the course?
There are several possible reasons why the audio could seem to be missing from the video. Check to make sure that you have a sound card installed on your computer. Make sure that the sound on your computer is turned on. Also, ensure that your speakers or headphones are connected to your computer and are turned on.

Q:
Why is the video/audio skipping?
A high-speed Internet connection is required for optimal viewing of our training videos. For optimal viewing, the Internet speed should be at 500kbps. If you are viewing the video with a slower Internet connection (56k), you may have to wait a few minutes for the video to load.

Q:
When I open the video, all I see is a black screen. Why?
Depending on the speed of your Internet connection, you may have to wait a few moments for the video to load. If there is a circle with rotating bars in the middle of the video screen, the video is loading and will begin to play shortly. However, if there is no circle in the middle of the video screen, or if an error message appears, the connection may have timed out. Please close the video player and click on the lesson again. The video should then load and play properly.

Q:
My Login or Password is not working. What should I do?
For a forgotten password click on the Login Button. A new login window will open. Simply click on the ‘Forgot Password Click Here’ link and a new window will open asking for your Username and Email Address. You must enter the correct username for your account and email address that you provided when logging in. Once that information is entered you will receive an email with your user login information. For a forgotten username please call 1-888-494-2075 or send an email to Customer Service. Make sure to include your contact information, such as a phone number and/or email address. A representative will contact you as quickly as possible.

How do I change my password?
You can change your password after you are logged in to your account. Just click on the "Account" tab and select Profile from the drop-down menu. You will then have the option to update your Password and Email Address. Click the Submit button to save your changes.

You don't have a course I am looking for. Can I request it?
Yes. We want to fulfill the training needs of all members. You can request a course by sending an email to Customer Service. We will do our best to get that course onto our website.

Q:
How do I take the quiz for the course I am taking?
To take the quiz, you must view each video for the course you are taking. Look for a green checkmark next to each lesson title. If any checkmarks are missing, view those lessons. Once completed, simply click on the Certification Test button at the top-right side of the course page. The test will then load in a new window. You will have a specific amount of time to complete randomly selected questions for that course.

I completed the course, but the quiz is not loading properly. How do I get it to work?
For the quiz to load properly you must ensure that your Internet speed is at 500kbps. If you are using the site with a slower Internet connection (56k), you may have to wait a few minutes for the quiz to load, or it may time out and not load properly.

Q:
How can I track the courses I have completed and the tests I have taken?
KnowledgeCity has designed a simple-to-use user interface where you can find the details of every course you are in the process of taking, as well as which ones you have completed and passed. Move your mouse over the Account tab at the top of the page, and select the My Learning menu item. There you will see the progress of each course you have viewed. The courses are listed neatly with all of the progress details of each of your courses.

I completed and passed the course, but I didn’t print my certificate. How can I get a copy of my certificate?
Please contact your supervisor for a copy of your certificates.

Q:
How do I change the name on my certificate?
Users are not allowed to change the name on the certificate. The name you enter when you sign up for your KnowledgeCity account is the name that will appear on your Certificate of Proficiency.

I am having technical issues with the videos or quiz. How do I get technical support?
Please contact Customer Support for all technical issues. Someone will get back to you within 48 hours.

My Certificate won’t print when I click on the Certificate icon in My Learning.
You must contact your supervisor to receive a copy of your certificate.
